CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force quickly arrested this week's fugitive of the week in Manchester after he was featured on Wednesday. Luis Mendoza Vazquez, 33, was arrested by task force members after they were "conducting surveillance and interviews at multiple locations throughout Manchester," according to Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal. During these interactions, he said, task force members learned Vazquez was at a home on Ahern Street. "(He) had expressed to friends that he knew he was wanted and was considering turning himself into police," White said. "After a short period of surveillance, Mendoza Vazquez was observed exiting the residence and getting in a truck. This truck was stopped by the NH Joint Fugitive Task Force and Mr. Mendoza Vazquez was arrested without incident." Did you like this story? Invite a friend to subscribe to Patch! After he was arrested, White added, task force members learned that it appeared he was getting a ride to turn himself in to police. Vazquez was taken to the Merrimack County Jail. He was indicted on a possession with intent to distribute a controlled drug-fentanyl charge in U.S. District Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest in October 2020. White said staffers from the Belknap, Rockingham, and Strafford county sheriff's offices, Manchester police, and deputy marshals were involved with the case.
