Berkeley, California (Wednesday, February 10, 2021) - On February 7th at 10:54 pm, officers were checking out a vehicle that looked like it was idling unoccupied on 2nd Street--just south of Gilman Street. After a records check of the vehicle's license plates, officers discovered the vehicle was wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Belmont, CA. When officers looked inside the vehicle, they found the suspect slouched down in the driver's seat asleep. Officers woke-up the suspect and took him into custody without further incident. Officers later learned the suspect was wanted for several bank robberies throughout the bay area.
