Description

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Members of the City Council wield enormous power over what happens in New York, and Patch wants to hear from Upper West Siders about what issues matter to them in this year's elections. For the first time in years, the neighborhood has an open seat: Helen Rosenthal is term-limited from running again in District 6, and six candidates are running to replace her. Whoever wins will be able to influence new development, vote on new laws, and serve as the Upper West Side's advocate in city government. Ahead of the June 22 primary election, we're asking readers to weigh in about what issues matter to them in the neighborhood. What problems are going unaddressed? What good programs should be built upon? Fill out the survey below, and we'll ask the candidates to respond to the issues you raise: Patch reporter Nick Garber contributed to this report.
