That’s at the core of who I am, and it’s the kind of company I’m building. It’s not for everyone, and that’s ok. But you should know that I am all in on this vision, and I will give everything I have to the people who are all in with me. It’s the only way I know how, and all I ask in return is that you do the same for me. Let’s do this together. We believe: That simplicity, beauty and optimal function is the roadmap to a better way of life. We believe that you don't need more to be happy. That “perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” Whether it's our business cards, our construction management process or our properties, this mindset describes every part of our business. What we do: We are obsessed with a singular focus of creating the greatest apartments in the world. To us, that means pursuing perfection in simplicity, beauty and optimal function. How we do it: By seeing obstacles as opportunities. By pursuing excellence and proving it at every level. By asking ourselves, “Why not?” and believing, deep down, that we’re building something we can be proud of. We do it with focused doers and A+ players. People from all walks of life who are equally sold out on our vision, our system and our values. People who keep their word and strive to make the company better every single day. If this is you, if you’re tired of the status quo and want to put your heart and soul into something that matters, this is where you belong. Who we are: Mission-Driven. We’re not just sorting emails, maintaining a building or making offers on a property. We are driven by our passion for building something that’s far greater than anything we could build on our own. We are building a better way of life for ourselves and others because life is not a rehearsal. You have one chance to make it count. Self-Motivated. We love autonomy. We earn the right to have it by taking ownership and solving our own problems. We don’t need to be micromanaged, and we follow through. The sky’s the limit in what we are able to accomplish, but we can only go as far as our own dedication and work ethic will take us. Growth-Oriented. We are naturally curious. We are teachable and always look for ways to improve the company and ourselves. We have humility and never complain, especially about our circumstances. Loyal. To family, to each other and to the company. We have each other’s backs instead of talking about each other behind them. We even go a step further by actively standing up for our people instead of just passively listening. Detail-Oriented. Again, we pursue excellence and prove it at every level. To do that, we have to care for the little things. Our work, and ultimately our properties, are only as good as the details we put into them. Innovative. All we have are the best ideas we’ve come up with so far. Bring us a better idea, and we’ll run with it. Everyone has a spot at the table, and no one should be afraid to speak up. Title, education, what you “should” be doing based on your experience, it’s all irrelevant when it comes to innovation, and everyone is responsible. What matters to us: Faith - Believing in something bigger than ourselves is important to us. You don’t have to have the same beliefs as we do, but we honor that in what we do and how we do it. Integrity & Effort. We do the right thing and give our best effort all the time, especially when no one is watching. We do this because we know what we do when no one is watching is our true character. Creativity. We meet once a week to meditate and create space for big ideas that move the company forward in profit or process. We do this by quieting our minds and hearts in thoughtful reflection. Health - We can’t give our best if we’re not at our best. Physically, mentally and emotionally. Free optional daily workouts. Teams that sweat together, stay together. Overcoming adversity only makes us stronger. Free healthy snacks. Good health starts with nutrition. You are what you eat. Family - Work matters, but it’s not all that matters. We treasure our families and make space for them. Six weeks of paid time off surrounding major holidays. It's cheap to say family matters, but writing a check so you can be with your family for six weeks is not. Work ends at 5PM so we can create distraction-free time with the people we love. If there’s something fun that you really enjoy thinking about after hours feel free to do as much of that as you want. Comradery - We grow closer through fierce loyalty, mutual respect, buy in and belonging. Fierce loyalty. Take a look around. Those are your brothers. Those are your sisters. Believe in them. Fight for them. Their success is your responsibility. Mutual respect. We only recruit winners or winners in the making. So you know that you can count on the people around you, and they can count on you. Perhaps more importantly, titles don’t matter. The Janitor and CEO are important contributors to our sole obsession. We couldn’t do it without either one. Buy in. We want people who don’t just think this a good idea, but people that are all the way in. The company's vision is their vision. Belonging. We all want to be part of something greater than ourselves, something we can look back on with pride and say “I did that with my life’s work.” The culture of this company is for a very specific niche of people. If the thought of being part of something like this gives you goosebumps, you belong here. Hard Work & Rest - We only have one gear, and it’s full speed ahead. Business hours are 7-5, and we work as hard as anyone during that time. Period. It’s the only way to be successful while honoring our other values. Office time is go time. We stop at 5PM because we honor and value rest. It’s why we give six weeks of PTO and why we’re so adamant about not working after hours because we know that the only way to go hard for 20 years without burning out is to honor rest. We rest hard, so we can work hard. WHAT'S NEXT? After reading our vision (above) and watching our culture video ( ), if this position feels like a perfect fit and you would like to be considered, email: [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] with the following: 1 Paragraph - What’s motivating this change in your life? What are you looking for? 1 Paragraph - What’s the hardest you’ve worked on something, personally or professionally, in your life? 1 Paragraph - Do you believe you’re one of us and why? These questions really matter to us. Please answer them thoroughly. We cherish honesty. We hire based on this, we judge based on this, we hold people accountable; if you’re one of us you will love it. If you’re not, you will hate working here. Thank you!
