My car broke down last month. I took it to the dealership and they said it would be 2600 dollars to fix. I did not have that kind of money so I made a Craigslist post asking for a mechanic to help me out. Someone answered and he told me he could fix it for 500 dollars and that it would only take 2 days to fix. A week passed and he told me that there was also issues with my motor. He said he could fix all of it for 1000. I paid him. I got my car back last week because he said that he was "tired" and could not fix it. I had it towed to a Midas and they said that he cracked the lower oil pan and one of the intake hoses. The original problem had not been fixed either. They said it was going to be about 3 grand to fix. I have a job where I have to drive my own car everyday to work. So, I have been renting a car this entire time. I have picked up a second job so that I can pay for this bill but I am so behind right now, I am close to losing my place where I live.. I am 2 weeks late on my rent, a month late on my car payment and insurance, and I have borrowed money from everyone I know to ask. I am looking for someone to sell me a reliable car or donate one to me so I can get back on my feet. I fix computers for a living so maybe we could trade some work for a car. I don't know what else to do. I feel like I am drowning. Please help.
