Dewees Island is small barrier island that is under a conservation easement. We take pride in the preservation of the beautiful environment and wildlife. The private island is also home to residents who share the same passion for the environment. Currently, the Dewees Island POA is seeking a part time Maintenance Technician. Candidates must be reliable, self-motivated, handy, and customer service focused. Maintenance Technician Summary Performs a variety of skilled maintenance, modification, construction, and repair activities. Capable of performing a wide variety of work to ensure that the public facilities, infrastructure, and docks are maintained in a safe and effective working condition. Operates and maintains equipment and vehicles that are used in the maintenance and repair department. Performs general maintenance on facilities and equipment including carpentry, replacement of light fixtures and air filters, painting and repair of plumbing fixtures, power washing. Maintains public facilities, shop and garage areas, storage sites and other buildings in a clean orderly and safe condition. Knowledge of golf-cart repair and maintenance a plus. Work Environment Job requires daily ferry rides to and from the island. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. By the nature of the fact that we have a small, limited workforce here on Dewees Island, it is important that every member of our staff be a team player, flexible, and adaptable. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Hours: 25-40 hours/week Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday Hours can vary be between 7:00am - 4:30pm Compensation $15.00-$17.00/hour
