TAMPA, FL — To celebrate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' historic Super Bowl victory, Hillsborough County and city of Tampa officials teamed up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to host a socially distant boat parade along the Hillsborough River. Thousands of fans like up along the Tampa Riverwalk at the dock at Armature Works to watch hundreds of boats carrying players, coaches and Tampa Mayor Jane Castor navigate the river. At one point, quarterback Tom Brady who had his children, wife Giselle, and a couple of teammates aboard his boat, tossed the Vince Lombardi trophy to teammates on another boat. On the heels of the Tampa Bay Rays' run in the World Series, the Tampa Bay Lightning bringing home the Stanley Cup and now the Super Bowl win, Tampa Bay residents have begun referring to their hometown as Champa Bay, although Brady said he prefers Tompa Bay. Prior to the parade, city employees handed out free masks at several locations.
