Description
CASA of Baltimore County is a non-profit organization that pairs volunteers with youth in foster care so the volunteers can be mentors, friends, and - above all - advocates for these vulnerable children. By providing a voice for them, CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) work to ensure that the kids receive the support, health services, and the educational assistance they need. The goal is to find every child a safe, permanent, loving home.
The next CASA training session for new Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) begins on March 1. The training classes provide new CASAs with the information and knowledge needed to become effective advocates for vulnerable children and young adults in foster care. There is no prior training necessary, just the desire to make a difference, however, CASAs must be at least 21 years old and willing to undergo a background screening.
If you would like to learn more, CASA of Baltimore County is holding an open Online Info Session (using Zoom) on Thursday, February 18, from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. There will be a short video, then CASA staff and current volunteers will explain the program and answer questions. Use the following link to register for the Info Session:
