HOWARD COUNTY, MD — City, county and federal offices, courts and the Howard County animal shelter will be closed in observance of the Presidents Day Monday. Trash will be picked up on Presidents Day while recycling and food scrap/yard trim services will be in effect and the Alpha Ridge Landfill will be open. The county's 50+ centers remain closed at this time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While county parks, Gary J. Arthur, North Laurel and Roger Carter Community Centers, Meadowbrook Athletic Complex and Cedar Lane and Schooley Mill Park Activity Rooms will be open Monday, the Robinson Nature Center, Kiwanis-Wallas Hall, Belmont Manor & Historic Park, Firehouse Museum, Patapsco Female Institute and the Baltimore & Ohio Ellicott City Station Museum will be closed. County historic sites remain closed for the season and will not reopen until April.
The Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a regular weekday schedule. All parking regulations and fees will be in effect. The 9-1-1 Center, police and fire departments remain staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
County operations will resume Tuesday at regular business hours.
