As Yard Crew, it is your job to ensure the rental equipment and return of equipment runs smoothly. You will communicate with customers, counter staff, and perform manual tasks such as lifting, maintaining, and cleaning equipment. A positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic will go far in making A Tool Shed the best equipment rental service locally. As Yard Crew Member you will work with a team to: - Provide excellent customer service. - Maintain, clean, and learn to use rental equipment so that it is ready to rent to our customers. - Responsible for promptly and safely delivering and picking up tools and large equipment to and from customers (once trained on the job!). - Prepare and inspect rental equipment returning and renting out. - Clean and maintain yard as needed. The must-haves: - Have a flexible schedule, able to work weekends and holidays. - At least 1 year experience in customer service, landscaping, construction, or work in related field. - Can write legibly. - Must be able to work in a typically comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature and weather extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes. Don't worry, safety gear provided! - Physical Requirements: o Ability to lift, carry, and safely move a minimum 60 pounds unassisted with proper technique. Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. o May and often does require 10 hour workdays, periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. o Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. It would be cool if you: • Have knowledge of the use and maintenance of construction, landscape and homeowner equipment. • Are mechanically inclined. • Willing and ready to train on the job, follow safety guidelines, and work with a great team! • Are Bilingual in English and Spanish Why Join our crew?
