Description
LONG VALLEY, NJ - There is very little the Long Valley First Aid Squad doesn't do. Responding to accidents, lost hikers, storm rescues, and sometimes they even clear a driveway. And they are hoping some civic minded volunteers are looking to join them.
The Long Valley First Aid Squad will be holding an open house at 6 p.m. on Feb. 15.
Besides responding to emergencies during last week's nor'easter they also cleared the walkway and driveway of a resident while responding to a medical emergency.
"Fortunately there was no problem at the location," the squad posted to social media. "One of our Rescue Services members who lives in the neighborhood graciously brought his snow blower down to clear the driveway and walkways for the resident."
Rick Berg posted on Facebook that residents of all ages should consider joining.
"Most rewarding three years of my life. 1985-1988," he said. "Met the most amazing people, learned so much and helped the community. Very proud of my time with the LVFAS. Whether you are young or older I encourage you to take a look."
