Earn extra income and help be a part of the foundation of learning by becoming a Classified Substitute for Eureka City Schools. Classified Substitutes will be offered work on an as needed basis and can choose to accept shifts that fit their schedule. Substitute positions are a great way to get your foot in the door for permanent positions. Classified Substitute positions include: Clerical Monitor (assist students on the playground) Literacy Technician (paraprofessional that assists students with reading instruction) Instructional Assistant Special Education III (paraprofessional that assists students one-on-one or in groups) Food Service Worker Custodian Interpreter (Spanish and/or Hmong) School Bus Driver For paraprofessional positions, a certificate is required. You can make an appointment for the paraprofessional test by calling the Humboldt County Office of Education at 707.445.7039. The fee for the paraprofessional test is $7.00.
