Orland Mayoral Candidates To Speak With Businesses On Policies

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Advocacy Council are partnering to host a town hall event with Orland mayoral candidates for mayor on Wednesday. The virtual program will have current mayor Keith Pekau and former mayor Dan McLaughlin speaking with business owners, so they may learn more about the candidates campaigns. The event is being held over Zoom at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10. At the event, business owners will have the opportunity to learn more about each mayoral candidate, their background, qualifications and policy positions. Attendees can also ask Pekau and McLaughlin questions during the event. "The priorities of the business community are of primary concern to our organization," said Joyce Bibeau, 2021 Orland Chamber board president. "We count on strong leadership to keep our community vibrant." Both candidates have confirmed they will be in attendance, according to the chamber. The town hall is free and open to all chamber members and their guests. The event will be moderated by SBAC President Elliot Richardson. "This is a crucial time for leaders to put forth policies that will foster the growth and success of the business community," Richardson said. "We look forward to hearing about the plans Mayor Pekau and former Mayor McLaughlin have to support businesses and grow the local economy."
