By Gracie Stockton, the Minnesota Reformer February 9, 2021 A shooting and bomb detonation at an Allina Health clinic in Buffalo on Tuesday morning left five people critically wounded, according to police dispatch audio. The shooting occurred just before 11 a.m., and a bomb went off in the family medicine and urgent care clinic about 30 min later, according to dispatch audio. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced they were headed to the scene at 12:07 p.m. in response to reports of an active shooter. Local parents say that nearby schools are on lockdown. Police have a male suspect in custody, according to the Star Tribune and emergency dispatch audio. He allegedly had a briefcase and a gun. Buffalo police, Wright county sheriff's deputies, ATF, and SWAT team are all on the scene. There is also "high suspicion" of a second bomb threat at a Super 8 motel a mile from the health clinic, but it remains unclear whether the incidents are related. Three victims were taken to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale, including a female with three gunshot wounds, who was taken by air ambulance. Dispatch audio also confirmed that two others were taken to Buffalo Hospital. Emergency responders from the Twin Cities metro area have been dispatched to assist.
