Join CHI St. Joseph Children's Health in celebrating the grand opening of The St. John Neumann School for Children & Families. CHI St. Joseph Children's Health is pleased to invite you to the official ribbon cutting and community open house of the St. John Neumann School for Children & Families. The School located in the heart of Columbia Borough is the organization's re-envisioning of what is possible when creating a childcare and Pre-K program with a family focus. Planning for the St. John Neumann School started in 2016 when our local board of directors asked the team in Lancaster County to re-imagine childcare/early childhood education as well as the role that a health system could and should play in assuring this essential service to everyone in our community. As discussions continued, our community-based board charged us with creating and offering an enhanced learning and childcare experience for children and their families that: Provided children with an outstanding learning experienceIncorporated health and wellbeing into everyday activities and learning in all of the classrooms every day – not just during special health segments and programsRecognized good nutrition as an essential building block for child and family successAddressed the gap in childcare and early childhood learning experiences in Columbia Borough with an affordable option for families.Paid the teachers, assistant teachers and all employees at the school a living wage representative of the essential work they do and the vital service the team provides not only the enrolled families but also our community.With the opening the St. John Neumann School for Children and Families, we believe we have fulfilled the vision of our local board of directors and are excited to share our facility and our program with the Community. Please join us for a "Covid-appropriate" Open House feature the office Ribbon Cutting, Comments from Community Leaders and Refreshments. Tours are available and will be offered with a timed entry that limits the size of groups in the building. Out of respect for our guests, our employees and the community, Masks are required.
