Hendrickson is expanding our service team. We are currently looking for Road Service Heavy duty truck/diesel technician to join our service team. With our expansion into our new facility in Islandia, NY we are seeking multiple technicians to round out our staff. At Hendrickson, we offer outstanding incentives: Advancement/ Paid Training Medical Benefits Vacation / sick time Clean shop with a friendly family environment 401k match Bonus plan Extensive technician training program Responsibilities Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties Performs standard vehicle maintenance Performs standard component inspections and repairs Performs preventive maintenance Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required Replaces defective components as instructed Performs facility maintenance duties Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Requirements At least 5 years experience Must have great communication skills within a team environment High school diploma or equivalent Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred Own tools Must have a valid driver’s license Valid CDL is highly desired but not mandatory Hendrickson Enterprises serves the municipal and commercial transportation markets through its five subsidiaries; Hendrickson Fire Rescue Equipment, Hendrickson Transport, Hendrickson Emergency Service, Hendrickson Truck Center & Hendrickson Truck Parts.
