North Lake Tahoe Boat Rental is currently accepting applications for many available positions for Summer 2021. Open Positions: BOAT CAPTAIN / DOCK HAND / RECEPTIONIST Work Site: Tahoe Vista, CA 96145 Employment Period: May 1st through October 15th, possible year round employment for the right candidate. We are looking for employees who want more than just a job for the summer. We are looking for candidates who want to use their college degrees (if acceptable) to help our company grow. If you have experience in marketing, we will team you up and work to develop those skills throughout the summer. We know how boring and routine dead end jobs can be, NLTBR is looking to change that. We are open communication from top to bottom and if you think your skills can make a difference we would love to hear from you, even if we don't have that position listed. Can also provide internships to University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) students and will work with each employee to support them as best as possible in their future career path. Desirable additional traits/skills to add to any of these positions: Social Media engagement Photo/Video editing skills Marketing Expertise Accounting Experience Flexibility in schedule Transparency Drone Operation OPEN POSITION: CAPTAIN Operate a 21-26’ open bow passenger vessel on Lake Tahoe. Maintain a clean and presentable boat each and every day. Knowledge of afternoon sierra winds, how to operate safely with unpredictable weather a must. Knowledge of the Lake Tahoe is a plus, but NLTBR will teach and educate the right candidates. Clean and maintain a safe environment on the boat. Maintain safety equipment aboard the vessel Fuel boats as needed. Guide guests on daily 4 or 8 hour excursions with varying times from 7:00AM to 7:00PM Assist in light mechanic work on the boat maintenance and repairs. Some days may not be on the water and require helping around the dock. Miscellaneous duties related to rental operations as needed. REQUIREMENTS Must have a current USCG license to carry passengers for hire. (OUPV 6-pack minimum) Must be willing to comply with company Covid-19 plans which include mask wearing and social distancing. Good health and ability to lift 80 pounds. Must enjoy working in an outdoor environment. Able to conduct routine daily tasks with limited or no supervision. Must enjoy entertaining people and able to communicate with fellow workers. Must submit results of DOT drug screen urinalysis prior to employment. Results of drug screen must indicate no use of illegal or dangerous drugs including marijuana. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS DOE (Starting 20$ with little to limited experience) + tips. Paychecks are distributed bi-monthly. Company boats for personal use on days off (depending on availability) Nightly wake surf sessions (weather dependent) Occasional Meals - Cooked on site or bought for employees Company is required to withhold applicable federal taxes from paychecks. Covered for work related injuries/illnesses by our maritime insurance. Unemployment insurance. Employees reimbursed for educational expenses related to employment or advancing education. OPEN POSITION: DOCKHAND Greeting guests and actively checking in via phone/text with your assigned groups each day. Maintain clean and presentable boats before every rental. Knowledge of the Lake Tahoe is a plus, but NLTBR will teach and educate the right candidates. Drive valet customers to their boat on 12' Zodiac. Maintain safety equipment aboard the vessel Fuel boats as needed. Working varying times from 7:00AM to 7:00PM, usually 10 hour days Assist in light mechanic work on the boat maintenance and repairs. Cleaning the dock area, taking out trash, organizing life jackets. Miscellaneous duties related to rental operations as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to comply with company Covid-19 plans which include mask wearing and social distancing. Good health and ability to lift 80 pounds. Must enjoy working in an outdoor environment. Able to conduct routine daily tasks with limited or no supervision. Must enjoy entertaining people and able to communicate with fellow workers. OPEN POSITION: RECEPTIONIST (Possible remote work occasionally) Answering daily phone calls, emails, Instagram dm's, and Facebook Messages for NLTBR Creates booking reservations with TRYTN Handle refunds and payments via STRIPE Greeting guests and actively checking in via phone/text with NLTBR groups for each day. Maintain clean and presentable boats before every rental. Knowledge of the Lake Tahoe is a plus, but NLTBR will teach and educate the right candidates.
