Job Title: Refrigeration Facility Maintenance Technician Company: Red Diamond Cooling, Inc. is a family owned agricultural cooling facility located in Guadalupe, CA. Red Diamond Cooling, Inc. specializes in receiving, pre-cooling, refrigerated warehousing, and shipping of broccoli, cauliflower, celery, lettuce and strawberries. Job Description: Red Diamond Cooling, Inc. is looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician. This position will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment and machinery associated with a running agricultural cooling facility. Job Duties: • Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities including but not limited to identifying equipment maintenance needs, recording mechanical equipment readings, and ensuring accuracy of records kept. • Perform routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement of broken parts; order and maintain stock levels of lubricants and spare parts used in plant equipment. • Maintain records of plant function readings and equipment history. Maintain preventative maintenance records and schedules. • Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using tachometers, pressure gauges, and flowmeter, amp and volt meters. • Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning plant equipment. Maintain, repair, and overhaul plant equipment including pumps and motors compressors, valves, drive units, hydraulic control units, chemical feeders, pneumatic equipment and hydraulic pressure systems. • Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including but not limited to lockout/tag out and confined space rules and regulations. • Operate a variety of equipment including forklifts as necessary. • Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including the installation, maintenance and repair of plant equipment. • Operate office equipment including computers and supporting software applications. • Adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems. • Communicate clearly and concisely. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Qualifications: The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or to be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. Knowledge of: • Fundamentals of welding and fabrication. • Lubricants used in plant equipment. • Electrical knowledge. • Forklift operations. • Basic ammonia principles (not required; but, a plus) • Operational characteristics of maintenance equipment and tools. • Metering and measuring devices. • Basic mathematics. • Office procedures including computers operation with applicable software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications). • Concepts of product shipping and receiving procedures. • Occupational hazards and standard safety practices. Required: • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the requirements knowledge and abilities is qualifying. • Clean driving record. Experience: Two years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and repair as a Facilities Maintenance Technician or similar job. Pay: A hourly pay rate will be determined based on experience and knowledge.
