Hey there! I have a growing home-based business in South Elgin, IL, and am in need of part-time help; packing/shipping orders, receiving shipments from suppliers, tracking inventory, organizing inventory, and ordering supplies from my garage. Some customer service may be required such as answering phones. Orders are packed and shipped from my garage and the inventory is transferred from various storage units that are within a 3-5 mile radius. Occasionally larger shipments come in from suppliers that need to be disbursed to these storage units. Hours will range roughly from 5-6 hours per day 5-6 days per week and will be paid on a 1099 basis, bi-monthly. The pay rate is $13 - $15 per hour plus the standard mileage rate for the occasional use of your vehicle. Hours are from 10-11 AM to 4-5 PM and are flexible. A typical day: - Print packing slips and shipping labels - Properly pack orders according to company packing requirements - Coordinate package pickups with USPS and UPS - Drop off packages if necessary - Transfer inventory from storage unit to garage if necessary - Clean and organize garage at the end of the day in preparation for next day Applicant Eligibility: - Must be able to lift boxes up to 50 lbs - Must have a vehicle (preferably a van or SUV) to transport shipments and inventory - Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently - Must be personable and trustworthy - Must be a fast learner and is self-motivated who can make decisions without much oversight - Wants to be part of a fast-growing company - Must have good organizational skills and detail-oriented - Is okay to work in crowded spaces - Is okay with unheated and unairconditioned environments - Someone who lives within 20 minutes is preferred Upward Mobility: This job has the prospect of having upward mobility as we transition operations from my garage to a warehouse. Part of this transfer is the chance at being a lead warehouse worker or warehouse manager. This job is for someone who enjoys working alone or closely with another person occasionally.
