Botanicaz, is an online plant shop specializing in a diverse collection of rare and exotic tropical and sub-tropical plants. We are looking for a motivated Shipping Specialist to join our lively and collaborative team! As a Shipping Specialist, you will assist in the fulfillment of orders from customers around the country purchasing from a diverse collection of unique and sensitive plants. Here at Botanicaz, we strive for perfect, happy, healthy plants. Our ideal candidate understands the sensitivity of our inventory, and shares a collective awareness and responsibility towards the bigger picture. Adaptability and attention to detail an absolute must. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Provide general care and preparation of plants prior to shipment (including appropriate watering, checking for pests, removing dead material, and wiping pots clean) Overlook all outgoing orders for accuracy and provide detailed documentation when needed Organize orders based on shipping date Adequately pack and box plants to safely ship based on specific shipping details Transport shipments to post office nightly Communicate with customers when necessary Work to keep production areas clean, organized and free of debris Job Requirements: Ability to work carefully with delicate, easily-damaged, sensitive plants, and assist with the pulling of the correct plants to be shipped Ability to work in a high-pace, production-like environment (think grace under pressure) while meeting daily quotas Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time while caring for or wrapping plants for shipment Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout an 8-hour workday Ability to lift 45 lbs. Ability to maneuver in, and around, at times in a highly spaced environment Ability to work independently or as part of a team, handle responsibility, and take direction well Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others, including customer service skills is a must Though not required, preference given to applicants with one or more of these qualifications: Have houseplants Familiarity with the different plant genera we sell (including philodendrons, begonias, monsteras, and hoyas) Previous nursery or plant care experience Please note, Botanicaz is a new and emerging business that is growing and changing every day. This position is full-time, with some flexibility on building a schedule that can work for you.
