MULTIFUNCTIONAL TECH LOCATION: Point Roberts, WA This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service to the OSP Network and customer premises. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT NECESSARILY BE LIMITED TO: • Provide the installation of drop wires, station protectors and network interface devices, and initial wiring or rewiring of subscriber systems. • Become familiar with all facilities of the local exchange distribution network. • Provide the installation and maintenance of unregulated equipment. • Provide the installation and testing of residential and business security and alarm equipment. • Provide the installation and testing of residential and business phone systems, both analog and IP based technologies. • Provide installation and testing of a wide variety of home and office entertainment and technology solutions. • Safety-must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s). • Shovel to uncover/cover buried utilities per applicable requirements. • Use saw on conduit and hammer ground rods using a sledgehammer. • Enter and exit trench of 3 to 4-foot depth. • Glue conduits together and place in trench. • Operate Construction equipment to backfill trench and compact area to Whidbey Telecom specifications. • Load/unload compactor (approximately 115 lbs.) with assistance to and from truck and trench. • Compact dirt using a compactor over the cables and conduits. • Responsible for clean-up and restoration of area to original condition or better • Use of rake and broom to move dirt and gravel to original location and remove any debris from roadway. • Spread topsoil, hay and grass seed as needed. • All tasks are done outdoors. • Operate as a Team Member. • Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to maintain an excellent attendance record. • Ability to work overtime as required and travel to job and training sites as required. • Ability to perform assigned work without supervision. • Possess strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination; ability to distinguish colors. • Ability to be a Team player. • Ability to respond and interact in a positive manner to customer issues. • Ability to communicate (speaking and writing) in English in a clear and easily understood manner. • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds with assistance. • Perform repetitive tasks at a fast pace. • Ability to be a positive team member in a fast-paced environment. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid WA State driver’s license and insurable driving record. • Ability to travel through Canada-US border. • Pre-employment and on-going drug screens required. • Background check required. • Must be eligible to work in the USA.
