Our reputable and expanding construction firm is looking to add EXPERIENCED General Construction Laborers to the team here in Winter Park, Florida. The individuals we hire must be dependable, hard working, and a team player. Must have a positive attitude and be professional with other employees and clients. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen. The General Laborer will assist and operate on a construction site by handling various tasks daily, including, but not limited to framing, landscaping, painting, demo, drywall, plumbing, carpentry, minor repairs, and more. The General Laborer must be on time, work hard, and be a team player always. Construction tasks may require hard physical labor for extended periods of time: operating hand tools and power tools, lifting heavy objects, climbing, and digging. These tasks also require manual dexterity, coordination, and excellent vision and depth perception. ***Must have your own basic tools and a reliable vehicle to drive to the different job sites. Primary Job Duties Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor Consult with construction plans Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner Safely operate a variety of tools including but not limited to pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches, when applicable Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials Complete painting, drywall, minor repairs, lawn maintenance, carpentry, tile, and other duties, as requested Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly Practice clean and well-kept sites regularly Other miscellaneous tasks, as required Education & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED OSHA 10 a plus, but not required 2 - 4 years’ experience in construction Intermediate knowledge of plumbing, electric, and HVAC helpful Must be reliable and dependable Must be a self-starter and detail-oriented Must conduct yourself with professionalism, courtesy and respect when interacting with clients, customers and other employees Must have reliable and dependable transportation Physical requirements for this position is being able to lift approximately 50 pounds or more when needed, bending, stooping, carrying and kneeling. You must be able to do this in areas that can be hot and humid. If you're a hard worker and get the job done, we want to hear from you. Must be able to speak English in order to communicate with customers and other employees. Pay is between $11 - $14 per hour, based on knowledge and experience.
