A sh*tshow in a dumpster fire! The defense had to admit they had to change their strategy because the impeachment managers' case was so good! Bill Cassidy, Republican from Louisiana, had to vote to join the other 5 in the Senate because the defense couldn't make their case. tRump is furious with his legal team and SHOULD be. Alan Dershowitz had a scathing criticism for tRump's defense team on Newsmax. Several Republicans, while STILL not voting the trial constitutional, also had harsh criticism for tRump's defense team. tRump had a hard time even finding lawyers to defend him. He wanted them to try to say his lies about voter fraud were true, no lawyer would want to do that. He doesn't pay his lawyers, who'd want to represent him, then get stiffed? Their only defense of tRump is not that he's innocent but that the trial is unconstitutional yet their case is weak, only supported because some cowards in Congress are looking for an out, an excuse to keep from having to support or condemn tRump's actions on January 6th. The Republicans will probably prevent tRump from getting a well deserved guilty verdict, they may get what what Republican Adam Kinzinger warns of to his fellow party members, even more of the same chaos or we saw in our Capitol on January 6th, or worse.
