PEABODY, MA — Yalines Medrano, a Lasell University student from Peabody, was a contributor to a public art display "The Gratitude Garden" as part of a first-year seminar course "The Spark of Creativity" led by Assistant Professor Deborah Baldizar. The intention of the Gratitude Garden, Baldizar said, is to bring the Lasell community together and remind them that there is still much to be grateful for, even in trying times of disconnect and isolation. Medrano was among the students who sought out responses from the community and shared them as part of the public display. Responses were written on fabric donated by Lasell's School of Fashion and strung up between trees on campus as a visual reminder of hope and positivity. The Gratitude Garden will remain up through the beginning of this semester. Lydia McGinn, of Peabody, has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the 2020 fall semester. To be named to the Hamilton Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above. McGinn, a junior majoring in art history and French and francophone studies, is a graduate of Pingree School. Stephanie Bona, of Peabody, has been named to the Fall 2020 Dean's List at Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester. A total of 1,453 students were named to College of the Holy Cross Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year.
