FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham has declared a snow emergency ahead of a Tuesday storm that could drop up to 8 inches of snow in the area. The snow emergency will last from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Wednesday, and means no parking on streets designated as an emergency artery. The city will also close non-essential municipal buildings beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service indicates Framingham could get between 4 and 6 inches. But Framingham is on the cusp of a band of potentially heavier snowfall to the west that could mean up to 8 inches. Snow was falling just before noon in Framingham, and the flakes will continue until possibly as late as 10 p.m. The heaviest snow is expected to fall this afternoon, according to the weather service. Any vehicles not moved from snow routes could be towed, according to Framingham officials.
