LAKELAND, FL — If you feel called to help students make it safely across the street in Lakeland area school zones, the Polk County Sheriff's Office is hiring for school crossing guards. The position is substitute part-time school crossing guards in Lakeland, Lake Wales and Winter Haven. The guard should be available to work for one hour in the morning and for 30 minutes in the afternoon, hiring officials said.
