ANNAPOLIS, MD — An independent review group suggested that Annapolis City Council members should get a pay raise, the Capital Gazette reported Monday. The proposed increase could total $3,000 and roll out after this November's election, the Capital continued.
Reporter Brooks DuBose noted that the raise would include an inflation-based increase in the first year of the next term. A $1,000 raise and an inflation-based increase would follow in each of the next three years, he added.
DuBose explained that City Council members make $15,000 per year. The $98,000 salary of the mayor would remain unchanged, the journalist mentioned.
