Botanicaz, is an online plant shop specializing in a diverse collection of rare and sub-tropical exotic plants. We are looking for a motivated plant enthusiast to join our lively and collaborative team! As a Plant Care Specialist, you will help care for a diverse collection of sub-tropical plants, ensuring all plants are not only surviving but thriving. Here at Botanicaz, we strive for perfect, happy, healthy plants. Our ideal candidate understands the sensitivity of our inventory, and shares a collective awareness and responsibility to the bigger picture. Flexibility and openness to change, along with a willingness to learn and explore new methods is an absolute must. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Assist in the propagation of a variety of plants Provide general care and maintenance of a diverse assortment of sub-tropical plants (including appropriate watering, checking for pests, removing dead material, and wiping pots clean) Work to keep production areas clean, sterile and free of debris (including sanitizing tools, wiping down work stations, washing bins, etc.) Job Requirements: Ability to work carefully with delicate, easily-damaged, sensitive plants Ability to work in a high-pace, production-like environment where efficiency is crucial for success Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time while examining, transplanting, and watering plants Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout an 8-hour workday Ability to lift 45 lbs. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, handle responsibility, and take direction well. Must have positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others. Though not required, preference given to applicants with one or more of these qualifications: Have houseplants Familiarity with the different plant genera we sell (including philodendrons, begonias, monsteras, and hoyas) Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, chemistry, or related disciplines Previous nursery or plant care experience Please note, Botanicaz is a new and emerging business that is growing and changing every day.
