Description

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Library has started a new program to bring items from the library to the doorsteps of homebound residents. The program offers a free, contactless delivery service to homebound patrons in Ocean City who have a library account in good standing. To qualify for the program, patrons must be confined to their home due to prolonged illnesses, extended convalescence or advanced age. Patrons with physical or mental disabilities that prevent them from coming into the library are also eligible for the service. Contactless deliveries will be made on a bi-weekly cycle during the work week between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Staff members will drop off the items chosen by the homebound patron and will pick up the items that are due back at the library. Returning items should be left by the front door and clearly visible. Most circulating items may be borrowed by homebound patrons, with the exception of museum passes and electronic devices. Deliveries will be limited to 10 items at a time. Materials can only be delivered to Ocean City addresses. More information about the program can be found here. To register for the delivery program, email [email protected] or call the library at 609-399-2434 ext. 5223.
