JOB DESCRIPTION The shop/storeroom assistant helps with the day-to-day operations of running a successful & efficient shop. This includes taking the lead on the general cleanliness of the shop, yard, and equipment. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The shop/storeroom assistant directly reports to, and is accountable to the Shop Foreman. REQUIREMENTS: A. EDUCATION High School Diploma Prior inventory/shop training and/or equipment experience is a plus B. LICENSING/REGISTRATIONS C. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES 1. Leadership and teambuilding 2. Computer Use: Microsoft products, CMMS 3. Time Management 4. Conflict Resolution 5. Able to communicate clearly in written and verbal form D. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Storeroom Assistant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Assist in maintaining an around the clock storeroom & efficient shop operation 2. Contribute to the cleanliness of the shop, yard and restroom facilities 3. Uphold and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the shop/storeroom 4. Responsible for general upkeep, sweeping the floors, wiping shelves in shop/storeroom 5. Pick up parts and other shop supplies via a company truck 6. Conduct light yard work such as weed-eating and mowing at the shop facility 7. Pressure washing equipment 8. Perform such other duties as may be required E. SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL 1. Enforce all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook 2. Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met 3. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental rule F. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Office and field/shop environment Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required G. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The essential functions of this position includes sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
