ELMHURST, IL — Cars were stolen from two Elmhurst dealerships Friday when employees were looking away, police say. Here is information from the police reports:
Employees at Honda on Grand dealership, 300 W. Grand Ave., were moving cars to clear the lot of snow about 7:30 a.m. Friday when an unknown person entered a 2018 white Honda Pilot, which had no registration and was left running with the keys inside. The person drove the car off the lot. The owner of Elite Car Outlet, 178 N. Route 83, told police a man expressed interest in buying a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee about 2:30 p.m. Friday. The suspect was given the keys to inspect the car. While employees were distracted, the suspect drove the car off the lot in an unknown direction. The man was described as black, 5 feet, 10 inches, having shoulder-length hair and facial hair, and wearing a dark jacket and dark pants.
