ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a neighbor dispute, a wallet theft, drugs found near a store, vandalism, a fugitive driver and DUIs. Here is information from the latest police reports: Neighbor dispute A resident in the 400 block of West Butterfield Road told police that a neighbor came onto his property with a snow shovel and began "running his mouth" about 7:30 a.m. Friday. The resident said he could not hear what the neighbor was saying. The neighbor said he was never on the property and that he just greeted the resident when the resident swore at him. Because of conflicting accounts, no arrests were made. Wallet theft A woman told police she left her open purse in her shopping cart about 1:30 p.m. Thursday a Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York St. While shopping, someone stole a small pink wallet from inside her purse. The woman canceled her credit cards. Drugs found A person found a small plastic baggie containing drugs about 12:30 a.m. Sunday near the front entrance of the Goodwill Store, 654 W. North Ave. An officer took possession of the baggie and placed it into evidence for destruction. Vandalism Someone used black spray paint on several windows between 1:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the apartment complex at 454 Spring Road. Fugitive driver An officer tried to stop a black Infiniti G20 about 3 a.m. Saturday for tinted windows and improper lane usage. The driver stopped, but then sped away. A newer model red Dodge Charger was seen following the Infiniti, which was last seen headed east on Interstate 290. DUI Robert W. Johnson, 29, of Maywood, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Friday at York and Fremont on a warrant and charges of DUI, transportation of open alcohol and expired registration. He was released to the Maywood Police Department.Juan Valdez, 25, of Cicero, was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Butterfield Road on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was released on bond. Driving violations Jonathan Thorns, 37, of Maywood, was arrested about 11 a.m. Saturday at Addison and North on charges of aggravated driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Mario Vasquez Herrera, 33, of Chicago, was cited at 8 a.m. Thursday at Berteau and Third on charges of no valid driver's license and improper backing. He was released on bond. According to a police report, the suspect had never been issued a driver's license. Alexandra Morici, 20, of Elmhurst, was cited shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday at West and Alexander on charges of possession of a fictitious driver's license and speeding. She was released on bond. David A. Mueller, 28, of Maywood, was cited about 5 p.m. Friday at North and Myrtle on charges of driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no seat belt. He was released on bond. Jan Ragin, 65, of Chicago, was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday at North and Melrose on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was released on bond. Jonathan Carrera, 19, of Downers Grove, was cited about 11:30 p.m. Friday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper window tinting. He was released on bond. Brandon L. Howard, 33, of Maywood, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Sunday at York and Fremont on charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on bond. Lauren M. Biamonte, 35, of Chicago, was arrested about 11 p.m. Sunday at York and Robert Palmer on charges of DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. She was released on bond.
