Press release from the City of Malibu: January 22, 2021 Homeowners in LA County can apply to have the assessed value of a home or condo that is the primary residence reduced by $7,000 for tax purposes under the the Homeowners' Exemption (HOX). The deadline to apply for this year is February 15, 2021. If you miss the deadline, you may still apply and get prorated savings this year, and the full amount in following years.  Nearly a third of all homeowners in the County, including 32% of Malibu homeowners, do not apply, leaving $30 million unclaimed each year.
