Alameda County Begins Vaccinations Of Ages 65+, More Workers

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — More people are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Alameda County as of this week. People ages 65 and older can set up an appointment, as can workers in the following critical sectors: childcare, education, emergency services, and food and agriculture. The county continues to vaccinate health care workers and others in Phase 1A of the state's vaccine priority framework. A coronavirus vaccine megasite is slated to open at the Oakland Coliseum Feb. 16 and select East Bay CVS stores plan to start administering doses late this week. Alameda County had administered 187,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine, including 145,000 first doses, as of Monday, the most recent data available as of this writing.
