WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Westchester County Department of Health released its allocation of coronavirus vaccine for the ninth week of distribution. Westchester will be getting 7,075 doses, many of which are allocated to retail sites, which will be vaccinating residents who are 65 and older. Hospitals are charged with vaccinating healthcare workers, and county health departments are responsible for getting the vaccine into the arms of essential workers. The allocation does not include doses sent to the Westchester County Center which is a state mass vaccination site. The state has a website for people to determine if they are eligible for the vaccine and download a form that must be presented. There are currently more than 7 million people who are eligible to receive the vaccine — a process that could take months based on current allocations.
