JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Boundary Bend Olives, located in Woodland, California, is seeking applicants for a full time Field Operations Employee. Position is open immediately. SUMMARY The Field Operations Employee will be responsible for helping the Grove Supervisor/Farm Manager maintain groves and their operations. The Field Operation Employee assumes responsibility for a variety of assignments and projects, mainly overseeing and completing the groves operations, grove maintenance, and equipment operation and maintenance. The Field Operations Employee prepares daily duty and hour reports, production reports, harvest reports, and other reports associated with due diligence activities and assigned roles and monitoring/measurement responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Reports to Grove Supervisor & Field Operations Manager. • Follow irrigation/fertigation schedule (provided by Field Operations Manager). • Track and report actual irrigation hours/gallons fertilizer applied. • Follow work orders (herbicide, fungicide and pesticide applications) directed by Field Operations Manager; this includes preparation, execution, tracking of materials/chemicals and proper disposal of empty containers/wraps/ barrels. • Responsibilities require frequent work with hand tools and power equipment. • Follow and enforce at all times safety rules, state and federal regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safety of employees at work site. • Field Operations Employee will actively work to prevent any hazard/risk during work. Personal protective equipment will be required when needed (goggles, gloves. masks, boots, and coats/aprons shields). • With limited supervision, maintain daily materials and supplies in appropriate order. • Maintain a clean work area at all times upon job completion. • Work as a team member, providing support and assistance to other staff members with the department, including technical and processing operations. • Attend and participate in required meetings as directed by Field Operations Manager. • Adjust, repair and service farm machinery and notify maintenance staff and management when machinery malfunctions. • Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions and report to maintenance department. • Mix specified materials or chemicals and dump solutions or sprayer machinery. • Attach farm implements such as disk, sprayers, or harvester to tractors using bolts and hand tools. • Operate forklift and other farm equipment as required. • Other duties as assigned by the Field Operations Manager. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma and/or must have a high level of practical orchard operations knowledge and familiarity with field equipment. • Valid driver license and good driving record. • Able to communicate orally and written in English. • Proven time management skills. • Experience in agriculture a must. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office or similar software and ability to learn various software and web-enabled programs. • Ability to work outdoors year-round. • Ability to follow weekly plan provided by Field Operations Manager and follow verbal instructions. • Ability to work independently (without direct supervision or coworker support). • Ability to make independent decisions and exercise good judgment. • Ability to work flexible hours as needed. • Ability to relate to other professionals, peers, and field operators, both technical and non-technical. • Excellent attention to detail, time management, organizational skills, data management, reporting, and technical writing skills. • Strong cultural alignment with the BBO team and BBO brands. REQUIRED TRAINING AND CONTINUED EDUCATION: • PPE and Chemical training. • Equipment Operation and Safety.
