Meet Your Instructors! Kara Lyons was originally drawn to yoga for the physical benefits of strength and flexibility, but it was the emotional and psychological aspects of the practice that kept her coming back to the mat. Kara volunteered with her husband at NPH Guatemala in 2016. She worked there as an occupational therapist and was able to incorporate her love of yoga into therapy sessions with the children of NPH. It was hard to say goodbye to all the amazing kids, volunteers, and staff at NPH Guatemala and return home. Yoga was a constant in all the change during this time. Shortly after returning to the U.S., she received her yoga teacher training certification and has been teaching kids and adult yoga classes ever since! Kelly Allworth is a Registered Nurse at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She is also an online fitness coach that she helps others follow simple nutrition plans and workout programs from home. She is passionate about health and wellness and is always looking to help others. Kelly is also passionate about the mission, as it runs in the family! Through her father, Chuck Allworth, long-time employee of NPH USA, she has visited NPH Guatemala and continues to stay involved through exciting endeavors that support the cause like Winter Wellness! Luisa joined NPH Guatemala at 12 years old and graduated university with her degree in Physical Education and Sports. At the NPH home, she has worked as the NPH soccer coach and part-time referee, where she works with teenagers to build their skills, health, and self-esteem. In February of 2016, she received an intensive training in Seattle, Washington for soccer and leadership with ‘Lil Kickers at Arena Sports. Sports have helped Luisa throughout her life and she is so grateful for the opportunities she has received through the support of her NPH family and donors like you! http://www.nphusa.org/ +1 888-201-8880 [email protected]
