PROJECT SYNOPSIS The "Open-Mic Collaborative" is a hybrid networking platform for creative entrepreneurs passionate about providing an alternative to the commercial or institutional settings that dominate the amateur/professional visual and performing arts sector. We have developed an accessible Arts Incubator platform that endeavors to reinvigorate the experimental arts, media production and performance programming across Western New York. The "Open-Mic Collaborative" is an arts incubator hosting a collective of independent art practices for aspiring and emerging artists that showcases multi-genres of music and multi-disciplines within the craft, design architecture, literary arts, media arts, culinary arts, and the visual and performing arts. The "Open-Mic Collaborative's" mission is committed to host experimental programming featuring emerging artists and creatively participatory projects that use innovative methods to open a wider range of voices and practices than is traditionally represented therein. We invite creatives from any discipline to take advantage of our diverse amenities to produce unique installations, signature events and other immersive outreach projects that transcend conventional artistic practice while reaching new audiences. AUDITION DESCRIPTION The Producers and Casting Director are seeking performers for a cabaret-style event for a brand new interactive and immersive experience. We are looking for passionate artsy musicians and talented individuals, with a range of different abilities, to fill a variety of exciting positions for an improvisation-based band, jazz band/ensemble-with male/female vocalist, orchestra, chamber/choral music and a techno-world ensemble with vocal choir. The "Open-Mic Collaborative" is joined by a collective of eccentric artists who are also looking for actors, singers, dancers, stand-up comedians, magicians, models, artists, writers/poets among other specialty acts/performers, which are encouraged to audition and participate in the open-mic variety show revue. If you love performing live, in front of an audience, and telling a captivating story through exciting, upbeat music, then this project is designed for you. The "Open-Mic Collaborative" auditions are a fantastic opportunity for local singer/songwriters to show off your talent to music industry professionals and gain valuable media attention and exposure.
