An industry leader in the manufacturing of uniquely formulated hair, skin and body products is looking for a chemist to join our team! Perform GC/HPLC analysis on raw ingredients, bulk production to determine approval or rejection of goods. Maintain and calibrate GC/HPLC equipment. Perform minor repair when needed. Operate all testing equipment and tools in laboratory. Develop methods for assay testing for Raw Materials/Finished Goods Perform OTC testing. Perform basic statistical reporting and interpretation. Produce and maintain complete and accurate records for testing. Develop, modify, and validate test protocols for GC/HPLC operations required to comply with FDA/cGMP regulations. Train other chemists on analytical test methods using GC/HPLC/UV-V when required. Streamline processes in association with analytical methods. Responsible in ordering reagents/chemicals/supplies in her/his designated area. Generate COAs as needed. Understand and exercise all safety requirements and procedure. Exercise and monitor cGLP and cGMP compliance in work environment. Contribution of original ideas to improve the department. Receive and approve/reject gas & alcohol loads. Interface with Customers as needed. Calibrate pH meter daily and viscometer weekly. Prepared and send samples to customers. Stock and maintain retain samples and master QA samples. Familiar with FDA/State and Hazmat requirements/ regulations. Additional duties as assigned. Skills: Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Skills: Your work as a chemist will identify problems and come up with possible solutions to them. Before implementing those fixes, you will have to evaluate each one and then predict which one will be the most effective. Speaking, Listening, and Interpersonal Skills: Since your job is likely to involve working on a team, the ability to communicate with others is essential. Time Management Skills: Excellent time management skills will allow you to meet deadlines. Analytical Skills: Chemists, like other scientists, must analyze a lot of data Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills will be needed to keep track of your data, and carefully document all processes and results.
