Element Farms needs help maintaining our high-tech greenhouse in Lafayette, NJ. The right candidate should be ready for plenty of heavy lifting, more than enough fixing, and lots of getting dirty. As our Facilities Technician, you’ll work as part of our maintenance team to keep operations running smoothly. You’ll often work independently under the direction of our Facilities Manager. YOU’RE A GOOD FIT FOR THE ROLE IF YOU: -Have experience maintaining properties -Like working with your hands -Can diagnose and solve mechanical, technical, and electrical issues -Can work independently and do it well -Are reliable and punctual -Value good attendance and a good attitude -Know that maintaining equipment is crucial to a company’s success -Want to be a part of a team that’s building something big -Have previous experience on maintenance at a commercial or industrial work environment preferred -Have basic knowledge in areas such as HVAC, industrial electrical, and plumbing -Have basic knowledge of power tools, diagnostic and testing instruments preferred TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: -Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtime -Monitoring automated equipment to ensure proper function and maximum production uptime -Organize, plan, and complete all required preventative maintenance tasks for automated equipment -Groundskeeping and general upkeep of the property (landscaping, trash removal). -Run errands to pick up materials and supplies as needed -Operate forklift, manlift, and/or front-end loader -Assistant maintenance crew when needed -Organize and inventory materials, tools, and parts -Safe and proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment -Other tasks as assigned NECESSARY AVAILABILITY: 5 days a week Wednesday - Sunday 8 am - 5:30 pm with 30 minutes for lunch OTHER REQUIREMENTS: -Ability to lift 50 lbs -Some experience with maintenance and/or construction work in a commercial setting -Reliable transportation to get to and from work -Compliance with all safety and food safety policies in the greenhouse -Must be legally able to work in the United States COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: -PPE (masks, gloves) must be worn on site at all times -Social distancing required where available COMPENSATION: $15/hr
