A private family residence in Danbury, CT seeks a salaried, full-time, experienced and energetic Executive Housekeeper/Junior House Manager to oversee the proper running of their house. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing and managing staff, contractors, vendors and the smooth day-to-day operation of the household. He/she will work closely with the Estate Manager and the Principals. The Executive Housekeeper/Junior House Manager will be a motivated self-starter and possess a “no task is too big or too small” attitude. He/she should be organized, proactive, and have an eye for detail. He/she will be able to create a team environment, have a hands-on and flexible nature, and be comfortable with cats. The Residence team consists of a full-time Housekeeper, a part-time Laundress, and three part-time landscaping workers and gardeners. There is definite possibility of professional growth, as the household will be expanding quickly. Job Duties include: --Point of contact for Principals, Estate Manager, contractors, and staff regarding all issues including scheduling, staffing, maintenance --Manage, with the help of the Estate Manager, all vendors including gardeners, pool maintenance, pest control, trainers, other contractors and their access to the properties --Ensure household is stocked and guest ready at all times; assist with and manage household errands as required --Create monthly and yearly budgets for the Residence --Review and update household manuals, with the help of the Estate Manager --Manage and assist with special events, dinners, parties and entertaining --Survey properties daily to monitor for leaks, structural/landscape damage, etc.; test all property’s HVAC, IT, Security to ensure all is in working order --Oversee and manage all aspects of housekeeping, deep cleaning and household organization --Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times --Museum-quality cleaning of fine furniture, art, and antiques --Maintain family vehicles --Manage deliveries, ordering of household supplies and all inventories --Prepare and serve healthy, family-style meals for the principals --Closet organization and travel packing/unpacking --Provide support and assistance, proactively resolving issues involving service, comfort, vehicles, home technology, gym equipment, HVAC, IT, lighting, etc. --Manage scheduling of all staff as needed --Oversee and facilitate projects on property --Pet care as needed for 2 cats --Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the family at all times Job Requirements: --5+ years of experience with estate and/or property management --Very strong fluency in/command of the English language --Experienced in managing household staff and events --Preference for local candidates in the Danbury, CT area --Must be flexible with work schedule, i.e. able to work long hours from time to time, weekends and holidays as needed --Must be tech-savvy --Must have basic knowledge of Excel and Word --Must have longevity in past positions with verifiable references --Excellent written/verbal communication skills --Professional and service-oriented attitude, high energy and strong work ethic --Experienced with caring for museum-quality art --Self-motivator and self-starter --Must be discreet and willing to accommodate the privacy and needs of the family --Legal to work in the U.S. with valid driver’s license --There will be a comprehensive background check --Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement
