Cat Groomer and Boarding Facility Assistant Wanted We are a cat-care hotel and spa that focuses on cat boarding, cat grooming, in-home cat sitting, and cat relocation/shipping. We are located in the Sellwood and Montavilla neighborhoods, and we are seeking a full-time boarding facility and grooming assistant for the Montavilla location. Additional work providing cat sitting and shuttle service will also be available. Candidates should possess and/or desire to gain experience caring for and working with cats in a kennel, grooming facility, veterinary office, or similar professional environment. Candidates should have experience in customer service and customer management. Candidates with education, training, degrees, certificates, or work experience in kennel management, pet grooming, veterinary office care, or other relevant fields are encouraged to apply. Candidates should present well to a wide demographic, including young and older, well to-do, liberal and conservative, etc. Candidates should therefore not have full-hand or facial tattoos. Conservative facial piercing ok. Candidates should have good posture and be able to speak confidently. Remember, we are in the hospitality business, and our general guideline is “would Grandma approve?” A boarding facility assistant should be able to: Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and orderliness of the boarding and grooming facilities in a clean, time-efficient, and professional way. Perform daily cleaning of cat boarding rooms and facility grounds. Observe cats for changes in behavior, appetite, and health. Familiarity with the needs of elderly cats, cats with kidney disease, cats with anxiety, and the risks of fatty liver disease is highly desired. Maintain and update records of boarding customers, including calendaring, invoicing, and care records. Operate a point of sale system. Give cats food, water, and treats as instructed. Monitor how much cats are eating. Give cats medications, injections, and treatments as instructed. Provide food to cats. Provide customer service on the phone and in person during check-ins and check-outs of cats in our facility, and during customer meet and greets. Properly apply flea treatments such as Advantage or medicated shampoo if needed. Recognize emergency situations and enlist the aid of professionals. Follow instructions and work independently with intention. Climb 50 flights of steps or more per day. Lift pets, pet food, and litter up to 50lbs. Grooming Assistant / Professional Cat Groomer Wanted We are seeking an experienced assistant and/or lead groomer who can work with non-sedated cats. If your background is with dogs, we are willing to train the right candidate. The right candidate will have grooming experience. If you are new to the profession, having a grooming certificate with hands-on training is preferred, although eager learners are encouraged to apply. Groomers Provide: Baths, nail trims, brush outs, flea dips, a variety of shedding and matting control services, and a variety of shaves. Our business is seasonal, with weekends, summer, and holidays being our busiest times of the year, and therefore you must be able to work during those periods. We are an equal opportunity employer. The starting wage is $15-$21 hourly, plus bonuses and tips, with a raise at 6 months. New employees are eligible for employer sponsored health insurance after 90 days.
