Description
ROMEOVILLE, IL — Romeoville has been named one of the top 15 safest cities in Illinois, according to Safety.com, a home security, personal, financial, digital and travel safety website.
According to the website, Safety.com narrowed down the safest cities in each state based on two primary categories, along with data collected by FBI crime reports and the Gun Violence Archive.
The website states that it first evaluates public safety factors, such as violent, property and hate crimes, determining the safest areas to live. Then the website said it evaluates financial and socioeconomic factors like household income, average rent and health insurance. Additionally, the website says it evaluates each state for natural disaster safety and public health safety.
According to the report, Romeoville has seen no mass shootings, and because of the Lewis University Airport, it has great transportation links nearby.
