By Elizabeth Ireland, Times of San Diego February 7, 2021 The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose Sunday for the 18th consecutive day, increasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.479, its highest amount since March 11. The average price has risen 20.2 cents over the past 27 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.2 cents more than one week ago and 22.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 8.4 cents less than one year ago. "The extra cost of producing the summer blend of gasoline is now being priced into the market," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager. "Supply of California gasoline will continue to be an issue in coming months and years as local refineries work to comply with increased pollution restrictions in the state," he said. — City News Service contributed to this article Times of San Diego is an independent online news site covering the San Diego metropolitan area.
