Allegheny County Still Leads State In Coronavirus Vaccinations

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Allegheny County still leads all counties in the state in the number of coronavirus vaccinations administered. According to the state Department of Health, as of Monday morning, 70,996 people had received a partial vaccination and 29,807 were fully vaccinated. Two vaccinations are necessary to be fully inoculated. Allegheny County has received nearly 10 percent of total vaccinations in Pennsylvania. Statewide, 713,068 people have received a partial vaccination and 277,154 were fully vaccinated.Counties that have received the largest number of vaccinations include: Montgomery: 55,900 Bucks: 31,869 Delaware: 31,693 Luzerne: 28,214 Pennsylvania currently is in Phase 1A of the vaccine program. Those eligible to be vaccinated include people in long-term care facilities, health care personnel, people over 65 and people aged 16-64 with high-risk medical conditions. Phase 1B of the vaccine program will enable the following people to be inoculated: People in congregate settings not otherwise specified as long-term care facilities, and persons receiving home and community-based services.First responders.Correctional officers and other workers serving people in congregate care settings not included in Phase 1A . Food and agricultural workers.U.S. Postal Service workers.Manufacturing workers. Grocery store workers. Education workers. Clergy and other essential support for houses of worship.
