Berkeley, California (Monday, February 08, 2021) - On January 30th at 6:55 pm, a man was walking along the 2100 block of Oxford Street looking at his cellphone when a suspect approached him from behind. The suspect demanded the man's cellphone and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect took the cellphone from the man and ran away.
With the description of the suspect, officers soon located the suspect at the Downtown Berkeley BART station. When officers searched the suspect, they found a Sig Sauer replica pistol as well as the victim's cellphone.
The suspect (a 17-year-old male, no address) was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
