Participants will use objects found in nature to inspire their creative designs in cyanotype photographs, natural tie-dying, and seed bombs
Students and families will use objects found in nature to inspire their creative designs. Projects will include cyanotype photographs, natural tie-dying, and making seed bombs to disperse native plant species. At the cyanotype photography station, participants will use the power of the sun with manmade and natural objects to create collages and diptych prints in brilliant cyan-blue. At the natural tie-dying station, participants will use all-natural dyes made from plant material to make unique tie-dye t-shirts and bandanas. Digitally fabricated wood pieces and string will be used to make tie-dye in the various Shibori styles. At the seed bomb station, participants will combine clay and seeds of various native species to create a “seed bomb” which can be dispersed without digging or tending.
