CHARLOTTE, NC — A homicide investigation is underway in Charlotte after a teenage boy was found shot in the head in East Charlotte Saturday night. The Feb. 6 incident, which occurred around 11 p.m. in the 6630 block of East W.T. Harris Boulevard, also led to non-life threatening injuries of two others, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said. According to a CMPD report, police responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunshots. "When they arrived, they located a teenage juvenile male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head," CMPD said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The victim's name and age was not released. Following the shooting, a 16-year-old female suffered a minor injury during a fall. She was transported to Atrium University hospital for treatment. A 50-year-old man also suffered head trauma, and was transported to Atrium Main for treatment, CMPD said. CMPD said the investigation into the case is active and ongoing, and said that anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective.
