FULTONDALE, AL — The devastating tornado that ripped through the community of Fultondale Jan. 25 has left hundreds of people without homes or with significant damage to their property and businesses. One local Fultondale business announced Monday a fundraising event to help those affected by the storm. Mad Pies Restaurant & Bar, at 1731 Decatur Highway, has announced a benefit showcase taking place February 20. All ticket sales from the Southern Sound Benefit Showcase will go toward those affected by the tornado to help restore homes and hope for the Fultondale community. This event will feature a full lineup of artists starting at 2 p.m. and performing until midnight. Tickets are $20, and the event features music by Driver, Matt Bennett, Len Park, Ben Moseley and more. "We are lucky that our building only got clipped by the tornado," said Nick Bryan, Mad Pies co-owner. "We feel that putting on this show is our way to give back to our hometown." In addition to raising funds through the concert, Mad Pies is calling on community members to rally financial support for the cause. Those who cannot attend may send donations to @Madpies on the Venmo app. Please include #FultondaleStrong in the description.
