Little Bit Farm is seeking a part-time farm assistant for our small production, diversified, farm in its second season in North Kingstown, RI. We grow a wide variety of vegetables and flowers and are in the process of becoming certified organic and plan to sell our produce and flowers through a CSA and wholesale. The Farm assistant will work directly with a small team to execute a farm plan and coordinate production from March until September. March-mid April tasks will be light and include planning and starting/maintaining seedlings. Later tasks will include everything from building garden beds and trellising to harvesting and keeping notebooks on plant sales and production. A knowledge of driving and managing a tractor and ability to lift at least 50 lbs is optimal for this position. Some weekend work might be required. A minimum of 1-2 seasons with previous farm experience is required. We seek a person with a strong work ethic that prioritizes punctuality and attention to detail. A can-do, no-task-is-beneath-me, attitude is the type of person that will thrive in this position. $15 per hour.
